What is the Water Distiller? Home Water Distillers

Water distillation is one of the oldest methods of water purification. The water purification technology it’s based on is quite simple. That made water distillation wide-spread.

Water distillers expose water to heat and thus boil it. When water is boiling the steam goes up and goes through condensing coils. At the coils the steam is cooled down and therefore it is condensed back into liquid.

Various contaminants are not capable of transforming into steam at 100 degree C and condensing back into liquid. Thereby pollutants stay in the container and harmful substances are removed.

But there are several exceptions. During water purification through distillation volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and pesticides are not removed. This is happening because these substances are able to convert into stream at the same temperature that water does and then condense and spoil the pure water. They don’t stay on the bottom of the container.

Other methods of water purification can be combined with water distillation to solve these problems. One of the solutions can be to add gas vents or activated carbon water filters. Activated carbon water filters is fixed at the entrance to the container and its function is to trap VOC’s and other chemicals before they enter the container.

Water distillers produce water that is free from minerals. This fact moves some people into thinking that the water in distillation water purification systems is dead and unhealthy to drink.

Water distillers remove cysts, bacteria, parasites, viruses that can’t survive at the boiling temperature. A wide range of chemicals both organic and inorganic are eliminated during water purification bases on distillation. Water distillers can also help you to get rid of heavy metals, volatile gases and many other harmful substances.

Originally the process of distillation was performed above the open fire. But today it can take place on the stove or at any place where enough heat can be provided.

Water distillers have found their usage in many spheres of life. The water that has passed this water purification process is used as drinking water, food may be prepared in it, and moreover it’s widely used in a photography room, steam irons. Batteries are often maintained with the help of distilled water. In food industry water distillers provide water for the production of baby formulas, juices, coffee, tea, etc. Aquarium maintenance, care about contact lens, plants and flower arrangement – in all these spheres distilled water is efficient.
